Noisy gas hot air system

shimbag | Posted in General Questions on

It sounds like the makeup vents are making noise (according to my wife). Could this be due to a dirty filter starving the unit of air? Filter is 5 months old. Thank you

    Kenneth,
    Q. "Could this be due to a dirty filter starving the unit of air?"

    A. It could be. Have you tried changing the filter?

The filter was replaced Nov 2013. Went with a cheaper filter. Maybe should do it every other month with these filters

    Kenneth,
Every house is different. Check your filter and see if it is dirty.

Some houses aren't dusty, and a filter lasts for two years. Other homes have dog hairs, dust, and other stuff (especially if you have been doing remodeling or home repairs) that can clog a filter very quickly.

    Martin,
Found the problem..was a piece of paper in blower in bottom of unit. Nice and quiet now

I'm glad that the solution was simple.
