Possible to extend roof overhangs fromTGI roof?(foam insulated, vaulted ceilings, no attic)

MikefromtheMountainsofUtah | Posted in General Questions on

We are completely renovating the exterior of our crazy home, and would like to start with adding as much overhang as possible.  One thought that comes to mind is to have supports engineered that are mounted to the exterior walls.  We are trying to stay away from running any load all the way to the ground.   Any ideas?

If the roof needs to be replaced the insulation is inadequate, you might be able to install a new roof over the existing roof: https://www.finehomebuilding.com/project-guides/roofing/a-new-roof-over-the-old-one

Prescriptively, overhangs are limited to 24". A licensed engineer can design overhangs that project beyond that.
