Recommended products to seal basement concrete?

lucyna99 | Posted in General Questions on

I have a reasonably looking and smooth concrete in the basement, poured almost 2 years ago. Now, trying to finish the basement as a living space, I think I’d like to keep the concrete and not install any other flooring, just use few rugs. Is there any “green” product that you could recommend for sealing of this concrete? Reading data sheets from few of the products on the market scares me quite a lot. For example, https://sealgreen.com/polished-concrete-concentrate-sealer/

    Lucyna,

I think installing a long-term flooring in a basement (see http://www.finehomebuilding.com/2010/03/11/finishing-a-basement-floor) is a different proposition from what you are proposing. If you want put down some rugs, I would just do it as long as there is no evidence of moisture infiltration.

Oh, I forgot to mention that this is a Passive House, and we have ~gravel, then 10'' of insulation followed by poly vb, sealed, below the concrete floor. I'm looking at what product to use to protect the concrete surface from stains and prevent its deterioration/dusting.
    Thanks
    Lucy
