Roof insulation assembly – Rockwool batts w/ blown cellulose

Emel | Posted in General Questions on

Attics in our zone require R-49. Ours will be a vented attic with one ceiling area that is vaulted. The current plan is to use blown in cellulose over the flat roof area, and use batts over the vaulted space followed by extra blown in over that. The batts would be either rockwool or fiberglass (insulator’s preference). Our design uses a 6/12 parallel chord truss with a 16” energy heel. Does anyone see any issues with this design and plan? We are using Intello for a vapor smart membrane. We also considered using blown in over everything, but we weren’t sure in the insulation on the vaulted space would settle.
