ROR should I install new siding

Hey hope everyone is doing well. I’m adding an addition and wanted to ask a few opinions on replacing siding on the old part of the house. Right now the majority of the house has 8in aluminum siding in white over old wood cedar shingles. Before everyone panics about rot it has been there for over 50 years without an issue. The back of the house has new 8in vinyl siding in white from a deck project. In that area the wood shingles were removed and I used foam board for insulation.
The new siding is 4 1/2 inch in height and in a different grey color. In terms of my budget right now this is what I’m thinking in terms of options:
1. I change the new siding to 8in in grey and paint the existing siding to match
2. I change the new siding to 8in white and blend it in but not change color of house
3 I rip everything out including old wood cedar and start with fresh siding everywhere (most expensive option)
4. I add the new siding to the addition only. Leave old part for now and come back to it when I have time and money. Might look odd for a long period of time.
On a last note any opinion on house color. Is a white house a bad option or is there a benefit im missing to the light color.
