Shrinkage in XPS foam board

Some times i have faced shrinkage problems in XPS foam board. i could not understand the actual reason. while blowing agent is HFC or HCFC/HC to some extent.
can any body give me the reason and how it can be overcome.
shrinkage is about 2%.

    I don't know the reason, nor how it can be overcome, but I have information on the phenomenon. Start by reading this article: "Using Rigid Foam As a Water-Resistive Barrier." (Scroll down until you reach the section with the heading "Do rigid foam panels shrink?")
