Siga Wigluv vs Siga Fentrim for critical foundation joint

Roger_S39 | Posted in General Questions on

Hi all,

Would there be much difference/preference for one Siga tape over the other:

a. Wigluv
b. Fentrim

*Used to tape/air seal the outside base of the zip sheathing to the concrete foundation (in terms of performance, longevity, etc.)?

If one was used over the other, would anyone insist the other was used…. If it was opposite to what was specified?

Thank you.

Did you ever get an answer to this?

Fentrim. My understanding is that this product has more adhesive so it doesn't need any primer. It also has a felt sacrificial layer that protects the tape from abuse during construction. It also has a longer UV rating if it is to be left out for a while. It is the only product we use at this location and it works great.

You can also use dockskin primer and Wigluv tape.

Fentrim is a really good tape but it's more expansive than Wigluv tape.
