Small vertical heat pump?

ScaleBack | Posted in General Questions on

Have a small upstairs gas furnace, fits in a narrow, purpose-built closet. Ducted for 2nd floor.  Are there heat pumps on the market that would fit a small space like that?  Current gas unit is 46″ tall before fitted into ducts, 22″ wide.  Have not found anything compact enough so far.  Access to outside not a problem.

As a starting point, you've got to give the three dimensions... Width, height, length.

Hi, Sorry for the delayed reply. In addition to the current gas unit being 46″ high before fitted into the ducts and 22″ wide - it is 29" in length. The closet itself is: 79" high, 24" wide and 41" in length. There is also 14" below the bottom of the furnace floor for the intake vent. If I can get a small heat pump in that closet space, this is doable and I would convert.

Does the current system have central air with a coil on top of the furnace?

Do you have a floor drain by the furnace as the new heat pump needs to drain condensate.
