    24 or 26. The longevity of the roof is more dependent on its finish than the gauge. 24 ga has better resistance to mechanical damage, and can span further if it is installed on strapping. It also holds gasketed fasteners that just stitch two layers together better - but 26 ga is typically fine in most applications.
