Steel Building Home Insulation

JoseeKnox | Posted in Building Code Questions on

Hello,

I have a steel building that I need to add 20R to the ceiling to meet residential code. It already has the standard batting outside of the perlins. The perlins are 6inches. I would like to put 10r of rigid foam board inside the perlins and then corrugated steel panels on top of the foam board and keep as much as the perlins exposed for an industrial look. Will the corrugated steel pass for the fire barrier? I would rather not have to use drywall. And can I put the board right up against the faced batting already in the ceiling?
