Tool to test moisture content in concrete

PLIERS | Posted in General Questions on

Is there a tool to use to measure moisture content of slab and concrete walls that is reasonably priced? Or are you better off just taping poly to the floor and walls and seeing what happens? I was interested in using a detector that I saw for about $40 at the orange guy but don’t know if using one is a waste of money.

I bought a used Tramex CME4 from a local pawn shop for (I think) about $100. I was able to resell it a few months later for the same amount.
