Can a house wrap like Tyvek be used over Green Guard XPS Foam fanfold siding underlayment?

    Absolutely, most would recomend it. Don't tape the seams on the foam, flash all windows to the Tyvek. The other option would be to use the foam over the Tyvek as long as you flash to the home wrap.

    I have a siding contractor that wants to use just the XPS over the bildrite,tape all the seams with 3" tape, flash around windows, then side with steel seamless.Is this the right way? ThankYou.

    Pete,
    It sounds like your siding contractor intends to use the rigid foam as a WRB. That approach can work, as long as the contractor has done his or her homework and gets the details right. More information on the technique can be found here: Using Rigid Foam As a Water-Resistive Barrier.
