Vintage radiant gas heater

Sonya56 | Posted in General Questions on

Can a vintage radiant gas heater be installed in place of a where a fake fireplace once was ? There is a vent pipe sill in tact . If so is the existing vent sufficient or should an exhaust fan also be installed?

Not my expertise, but I would be inclined to avoid a vintage gas appliance, both from an efficiency perspective and a health and safety perspective. It might not burn cleanly and might spill exhaust in the room. An exhaust fan is likely to make things worse, pulling exhaust from the heater into the room.
