Virus impact on the supply chain

homeowner007 | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

First off, I hope that you and yours are staying healthy.

We’re about to enter into a contract for a new system. But we’re concerned about the availability of the Mitsubishi heat pumps that are the basis of the system. We imagine there are sensible reasons that the supply chain may be impacted. That said, is anyone aware of any availability issues from Mitsubishi specifically?

Thanks and stay safe, Jim.

I’ve seen some issues in my industry (telecom), but they’ve been minor. The biggest issue I’ve had lately is getting isopropyl alcohol, which is a critical solvent used in cleaning fiber optic cable when installing connectors on the ends.

I’m not aware of any issues with Mitsubishi specifically, but there have been some warnings issued about possible electronic component availability issues later this year depending on how things go. One of my electronics component vendors has a page on their website with a lot of info about this that may be of interest to to you:
