    Margaret,
    A flash-and-batt job will usually be more airtight than an all-fiberglass job. The improvement in airtightness should save energy.

    However, a flash-and-batt job may not save much money compared to a job that fills the stud bays with spray foam. Talk to your local spray foam contractor to get a bid.
