What is a Certified Green building Professional?

dacremodel9 | Posted in General Questions on

I am in California and have received an “invitation” to attend a two day, $450 training. It is sponsored by the major utilities, among others, but the web site, does not give much info as to the content of the training. Any advice?

I would add that it does not matter how many designations one can list after their name. IMO, being a professional means that you know WHY as well as HOW.

It's your basic overview of green building; if you're already well-informed about green building, you aren't likely to learn much that's new. If you are new to green building, then it provides a good foundation. However, IMHO the title of "Certified Green Building Professional" is a trifle grandiose for two days of training and no actual green project experience so I would recommend using the title judiciously. (And yes, I am a CGBP. :-))
