Where the heck are the podcasts?

jimblodgett | Posted in General Questions on

I can’t seem to find the podcasts anymore. Could someone please direct me to the list of what’s available and how to get them? Thanks – Jim

Jim, there are some podcasts scattered around the Building Science page

    Jim,
As soon as we fix the problems with the GBA website, we're going to be making some improvements. We need a "landing page" that lists podcasts -- you're right.

You can do a search (using the GBA search box) for the word "podcast," and follow the links.

Or you can also go to the landing page for the Green Architects' Lounge, since our friends Phil and Chris are responsible for providing many of GBA's podcasts. Here is the link:

    Rico,
Every day, I try to make at least one person smile.

Well, I tried to follow the crumbs before asking, Martin. But it's a little frustrating. I was a subscriber to Phil and Chris's podcast and went through them including the (maybe 2?) episodes you were on and enjoyed them very much.

But the new episodes stopped coming and now the most recent I can find is dated Feb 2013 or something. A year and 1/2 ago? Can that be right?

Sure seems like things are changing in our industry pretty regularly that could stimulate lots of lively discussion/debate. You folks at GBA had a really good thing going for a while there. I don't know if one person was driving things, or if there exists certain windows in time for certain movements and that is now closing, but it's a shame. I know I looked to GBA as a hub for my green building info, just as I once considered FHB as my in print hub. Wonder what the next generation of carpenters/builders will have to guide on. They'll need a beacon too.

Hope things get squared away soon. Time is short. None of us have much to waste.

    Jim,
If you click the link I provided -- Green Architects' Lounge landing page -- you'll see that the most recent podcast from Phil and Chris was published on December 31, 2013.

We would love for Phil and Chris to create podcasts more frequently; if you want to bug Chris Briley, and let him know that it's time for a new podcast, here is his e-mail address: cbriley [at] briburn [dot] com .

    Jim,
Concerning your second point -- "You folks at GBA had a really good thing going for a while there" -- I hope that your conclusion is premature. Speaking as an editor, I'm very proud of the mix of articles that GBA has been publishing lately; our content continues to improve, in my view. I don't think that you'll find the same mix of content anywhere else on the web.
