Wood or PVC baseboards w/ slab on grade foundation?

Is it best to use a PVC baseboard for slab on grade or wood? We have created our walls to have drying capability with rockwool, and intello vapor barrier and then drywall. Would putting a PVC trim board down, trap room much moisture? Or would leaving a 1/8″ gap underneath between it and the floor be enough to not cause issues? If I went the wood route, I was going to use a pre-primed 3 1/2″ pine board and I don’t know the breathability of their primer, so maybe this question is a non-issue either way as long as I have a small gap on the floor?

Either are fine. Any moisture will be removed by diffusion through the drywall.
I wouldn't leave a gap. It will just accumulate debris and pests.
Due to a host of environmental and health issues, I avoid PVC whenever I have an acceptable alternative.
You don't need to worry about moisture for either PVC or other materials in this application.
Personally I'd go with the pine.
