Any experience with ACDC12C from HotSpot?

tylerclose | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

This Solar Air Conditioner Heat Pump is described at:

It sounds great but I haven’t found many reviews. I’ve noticed comments on this site that are skeptical of non major brand mini-splits. Should I be worried about the reliability of this equipment?

    Hi Tyler -

I checked in with a couple of HVAC folks locally and neither was familiar with ACDC12C. I am hoping someone in the GBA community can come to our rescue.

I wonder if it makes any more sense than a small grid-tied net-metering solar PV system and an ordinary mini-split? The net-metered system could offset your hydro bill year round, even when AC isn't needed. Depending on the size it could supply more power than the AC required, effectively reducing your AC hydro cost to zero.
