Best ways to isolate source of musty smell?

I get a musty/moldy smell in my house. I can’t figure out the source. Maybe it’s the carpets? Maybe there is actually some mold in the ceiling or walls somewhere. Any tips on how to try to track it down?
House is from the 1980s in the Pacific Northwest near the coast.

    Have you measured humidity? Thermal camera check for wet spots?
