Depth of nails on rough cut 1″ cedar siding over diagonal 3/4″ pine furring

PAUL KUENN | Posted in Building Code Questions on

As we have a 2×6 wall (sheathed with 1/2″ ply for air barrier) with 12″ larsen trusses 16″ on center and no exterior sheathing, I don’t want to be poking holes in the black Quattro from 475 Bld Supply. We’ll be doing the burned to char look with 1/4″ gap between the 1″x 4″ rough cut cedar on the vertical. I’d like to use 1&3/4″ SS ring shanked nails. Anyone out there saying “NO WAY!”. Cheers, PK
