Garage siding

arunvm66 | Posted in General Questions on

I have a non attached garage with the existing siding heavily coming apart on one side. As I dont have the funds to replace the siding at the moment, what is my best option for the winter? My initial plan was to remove the and then putting up osb or drywall with a layer of felt or house wrap over it for the winter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have about a week of good weather to get this done before the snow arrives. Thanks

Below is a closeup of one of the areas.

    arunvm66,

    Please post a picture.

I get a sense from your urgency that your siding is the only sheathing or barrier from the elements?

If you're really hard up, a roll of tyvek and a couple rolls of tuck tape is your cheapest option of keeping snow out.

The previous owner of the house built the garage on his own and used hardboard siding with fiberglass insulation inside it. I will try to take a picture today.

    Thanks
