Hotspot DC Solar Mini-Split for an Off Grid Cabin

rockies63 | Posted in General Questions on

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has installed a DC solar powered mini-split? This would be for a small (400sq’) cabin in climate zone 6B and so far the only manufacturer I’ve found is Hotspot. Their smallest unit is the 12000 BTU, 48V model (ACDC12C).

The other piece of equipment on their site I found interesting was a device that harvests excess heat from the air conditioner condenser circuit and puts it into your hot water tank.

Has anyone used either Hotspot system, or a similar DC system?
