I’m leaning toward siding the house with 11″ composite fascia board over wrb/rainscreen. What do you think?

MikefromtheMountainsofUtah | Posted in General Questions on

We were going to go with cedar or fir, but then I did the math on cost to use this 11.5″ composite fascia that is capped on 4 sides.   And quite frankly, half the house is inaccessible without a 45′ man lift so I’d love to go maintenance free.
1. Never have to paint
2. Minimal fading
3. Only $6.75 a sq foot.

The house is covered with a roll on wrb that is dark grey (prosoco mvp spray wrap rainscreen), so gaps between the boards are fine.  I’d add 1/2″ furring strips, coat them with the wrb, and then face screw the fascia boards with color coordinated composite deck screws 16 oc.  Can you think of any reason why this isn’t a viable solution?  Any tips or thoughts?
