IMP residential roof retrofit

jsbb | Posted in General Questions on

Has anyone ever seen insulated metal panels (IMPs) used as residential roof on an existing house? All IMP roofs I’ve seen are atop skeletal steel structures. Could robust load bearing walls conceivably take roof IMPs? If so, how would you support the IMPs for a low-sloped roof, and how would those supporting members connect to the walls?
