Integrating sill pan with exterior door flashing

Chad_Attermann | Posted in General Questions on

Planning on using a commercial PVC sill pan when installing french patio doors.  I can not for the life of me find any details on integrating a sill pan with house wrap though.  The sill pan includes instructions showing house wrap, but it’s not clear at all about how to integrate it.  I used FlexWrap on all of the windows which already had sloped rough sills, but for the doors with sill pans, I don’t know whether to attach the sill pans directly to the subfloor and rough jambs and then do a typical Tyvek/FlexWrap flashing over top of the sill pans, or do the typical Tyvek/FlexWrap flashing first, and then install the sill pans over top of that.  Anyone with experience installing exterior door sill pans with house wrap that can suggest the best approach? Also curious as to why that approach was chosen.

Thanks again for all of the invaluable advice and knowledge gained from this forum.
