    The reason copper gets hot in the sun is that it has a relatively high As/E ratio, or the ratio between solar Absorptivity and infra-red Emissivity (about 2.1).

    You can reduce its solar absorptivity with selective IR reflecting coatings, but I doubt you'll find a clear coating that won't change the appearance of the copper.
