Drawings for Double-Wall Construction Methods

PAUL KUENN | Posted in General Questions on

Good day GBA!

The detail Library is missing two now more used double wall construction methods. We could use a drawing of foundation/wall with Larsen truss (whether with gussets or wood I-beam) where the exterior wall is flush with thick exterior foundation insulation. Interior wall is sheathed and air sealed with no sheathing on the exterior wall for blown in cellulose.

Also itwould be nice to have one for those of us that want to explore the “slabless slab” approach now that the topic comes up often on GBA.
Cheers, PK

    Paul,
Here's a detail drawing of a concrete-free slab, from the current issue of Fine Homebuilding.

Ben Bogie has these in a youtube video. I'll see if I can find it and link it below
