Code correct, metal flashing at inside corner of existing brick wall and new addition?

Ryan_SLC | Posted in General Questions on

Hey all,

We have two new inside vertical corners (exterior) with our addition to worry about. One of the walls is existing is brick and then the new is osb.

Am I good to just take a 10ft long piece of galvanized L metal flashing and seal it to the brick?

1. Do I have the option to lift the L flashing off the brick with butyl tape or something kinda elevated so the brick and galvanized don’t come into direct contact?
2. I obviously can’t integrate the housewrap onto the brick, but I could run it within the 4″ L flashing on the brick side?
3. Is sealant caulk or liquid flashing sufficient to put under the L flashing directly onto the brick to pass inspection?

With this in mind, am I looking at an okay weather barrier inspection?

I did search, but not seeing answers to similar questions.

Thanks!

Ryan
