Source for cellulose batt insulation in 7 1/4″ thickness

jollygreenshortguy | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

Does anybody know of manufacturers for a cellulose BATT insulation of around 7 1/2″ thickness?
Seven inches would also work. It’s to fill a 2×8 stud bay and I’m not looking for a spray in place product.

I’ve scoured the internet and haven’t been able to find anything thicker than 5 1/2″.

Thanks!

Seems to be a pretty rare item.

Do you want to tell us why are you so set on this product?

I'm researching wall and roof framing/insulation options and 2x8 stud bays fully insulated with no exterior insulation is one option I want to compare. I'm looking into batt because the roof section will use batts between the rafter top chords (2x6) as well as rigid insulation (EPS) outside the sheathing, for an unventilated attic. I've already got 2 types of insulation (batt and rigid). So I'd rather use batt in the walls instead of introducing a third type such as dense pack blown cellulose.

I didn't include the details in my original post because I don't want to invite responses challenging the whole approach and suggesting all kinds of alternatives. I know the alternatives as well as the pros and cons of this approach. I just hoped someone might know of a source.
