Spray painting vs brush paint for furniture

PLIERS | Posted in General Questions on

Hey hope everyone is doing well. I bought my daughter a wood loft bed in white but now she wants it to be pink. I have not assembled the bed yet. I ordered some spray cans of pink paint, figured it would be quick and easy. I’m starting to second guess my plan. I have never spray painted before, what results should I expect? Should I send the spray paint back to Amazon and brush it on with a paint brush and regular paint? What kind of paint is best? Will the spray paint likely work out fine? I also assume that the spray paint is more toxic.

With proper technique, spray paint can yield great results. You will need to watch some videos about proper technique, however. (And ideally, practice)

That said, spray painting indoors is ill advised (due to the solvents in spray paint), whereas you can happily brush acrylic paint indoors with no negative air quality impact.
