Taping mudsill to foundation to seal existing home

jeff_slocum | Posted in Pretty Good House on

Hi,
I’d like to avoid spraying closed cell foam to seal the seam between mudsill and foundation as well as rim joist to mudsill in an existing home in climate zone 6a. Is it better to seal these seams with caulk, or a tape such as Extoseal Encore or Contega Solid IQ? If tape is better, is it best to cover the top of the foundation wall to limit any moisture. Our basement gets a limit humid in mid summer, otherwise pretty dry.
Thanks
