What in the world?

fourforhome | Posted in General Questions on

I have several Milgard windows that have failed and took on a splotchy, mirrored appearance. It is not condensation but rather looks like the low E coating failed.
At the time of construction, one window had this appearance, and that was in the shape of a hand print. It was replaced before e moved in. All the others showed up later and are getting worse.
What is it?

    Hi Mark.

I haven't seen this before. Have you contacted Milgard?

Giving this post a bump to the top of the list to see if anyone else had experienced this failure.

Please let us know if you determine what the problem is.

I just found a home inspector's video of the same thing: LowE delaminating.
These windows started showing it a few years ago while other windows have just become apparent.
