Residential Dishwashers

Most of the energy consumed by dishwashers is used to heat the water; therefore, water-efficient dishwashers are also energy-efficient. Compared with hand washing dishes, the EPA estimates that using an Energy Star-qualified dishwasher will save 5,000 gallons of water annually. Scraping dishes rather than rinsing by hand saves an additional 20 gallons of water per load.

Hi Lydia,

We are in the process of updating our dishwasher listings and reviewing our criteria. From what I can see, if we don't raise our standard (products listed here need to exceed the national minimum energy standard by at least 60%, with an EF of 0.74 or higher) we most definitely will be listing Miele dishwashers. They have several models that exceed the national minimum energy standard by 61% to 67% and an EF range of 0.74 to 0.77. Stay tuned.

Thank you for your comment,

Any particular reason why Miele dishwashers are not represented in this product list?
