What makes this product green?
- Reduces heating and cooling loads
Unicel Architectural manufactures Vision Control custom-made adjustable interpane louvers for residential or commercial applications. The extruded aluminum louvers sit in a sealed 2" (51-mm) space between two panes of glass, reflecting light and heat before they enter the building. These systems can be fixed in place, manually rotated, or integrated into motorized building-automation systems or daylight sensors. The louvers do not move up and down. Tempered glass comes standard, but any type of glazingWhen referring to windows or doors, the transparent or translucent layer that transmits light. High-performance glazing may include multiple layers of glass or plastic, low-e coatings, and low-conductivity gas fill. is available, including low-emissivityAmount of heat radiation emitted from a particular body or material. Emissivity is expressed in a fraction or ratio, with the lowest values indicating low emissivity and the highest indicating the high emissivity of flat black surfaces. coatings. Energy savings using Vision Control systems will most likely be seen in cooling or south-facing conditions (compared with double-glazed windows), but the company claims energy savings for heating conditions as well. Because of the system's large air gap, the Vision Control also provides good acoustical performance, with a Sound Transmission Class (STC) of 37–48, depending on the configuration. All parts are made with UV-stabilized materials, and the units come with a ten-year warranty, including louver operation.
