    Jeremy,
In an article called Air-to-Water Heat Pumps, I wrote, "At least two sources — John Siegenthaler and Rich Williams (the CEO of Transform Realty Partners in Encinitas, California) — report that they’ve heard that Daikin is in the process of withdrawing the Altherma heat pump from the North American market. I contacted Daikin twice and left messages asking the company to comment on this report, but no one at Daikin responded to my call or email."

My guess is that sales were disappointing. The main reason that sales were disappointing is that the equipment is expensive.

And they now have competition from Chiltrix which is much less expensive if I recall correctly.
