Continuous Exterior Insualation

user-7864907 | Posted in GBA Pro Help on

Hello,

Location – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

I am starting a new build shortly and require continuous exterior insulation based on our heating choice of a interior air handler and heat pump. I am working with a pre form wall company to build the walls and have asked them to price out a continuous insulation option pre-built in their warehouse – instead of applying the insulation on site. I have inquired about ZipSheeting and they have also offered Isolofoam Panels or ISOBRACE AIR+ (even though they call it Comfort Board). Is anyone familiar with the Comfort Board Product? Thoughts on the quality and weather proof properties of the product? They are quoting about 4 times as much for ZipSheeting. Steve

How much exterior insulation value do you need? The Isolofoam panels only go up to R-7.65 and they are EPS.

I need R10 and have learned the restrictions of the Isolofoam will not meet my needs.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
