Improve this basement structural detail

alexdorf | Posted in Green Building Techniques on

Hi all,

Wanted to get your opinion on this detail. How would you improve it?

For example, what are your top three favorite waterproofing methods? What brands do you love?

Add insulation at the bottom slab?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    1. top of lagging -- transition to peel and stick for tie in to WRB
    2. blind side WP needs to tie into vapor barrier for concrete slab.
a-typical to have drainage plane outboard of WP which dumps into underslab piping -- bottom of WP is typically 2' below top of slab.
    b. could wrap the footing and tie into vapor barrier [check with manufacturer]

CCW, Cetco, GCP/Grace, Tremco all have typical details for this kind of work.
