Kneewall Insulation

emptygammon | Posted in Green Building Techniques on

There are numerous articles on insulating and air sealing kneewalls on this site and others.

The consensus when choosing to insulate the wall is the use fiberglass batts between the wall studs, air seal gaps, then cover the insulation with some sort of rigid barrier (OSB, Foam board insulation, etc.).

What I never see addressed is if the fiberglass batts should be faced (with a vapor barrier) or unfaced. Can someone address this?

Thanks!
