Mirror Airflow ERV

peterb2000 | Posted in General Questions on
Hey all!
I am building a new house and ran all the dedicated ductwork for an erv (Lifebreath Max Xtr). The unit shows that it has a mirrored airflow configuration in the manual which I need for how my ducts are laid out but doesn’t provide instruction on how to do that. Is it as simple as doing a 180 with unit? Is there a jumper or something that reverses the spin of the fans? Or was I supposed to buy a unit that they assembled in mirror configuration?

If I got the wrong unit would there be a problem just doing a 180 with the unit so that the airflow works with my ducting (ie. the outlets on the unit for inside/outside are reversed)? As that would solve my problem with regards to airflow direction but not sure if there’s anything that wouldn’t work properly as a result.

Thanks!

Many units are setup this way, and yes, it's a 180 :-) If designed to be reversed, the mounting hardware, drains if applicable, and door will all be designed to be configured in both orientations. Just call them and confirm.
