How air-permeable is 1/2″ CDX plywood?

davidmeiland | Posted in General Questions on

Any info out there on the air-tight performance of taped CDX sheathing, vs. OSB?

    David,
I just completed a passivhaus using taped 1/2" cdx plywood as the air-barrier. http://insituarchitecture.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/air-sealing/ Without any huge effort (other than care and diligence) we hit .32 at 50pa on the final blower door test. At the preliminary test (pre WRB) we hit .44 at 50pa and saw no real leakage at any of the sheathing. My understanding is the OSB available here requires the extra step of priming with some tapes.
