Drain Wrap for Metal-Sided Barn

Eric_U | Posted in General Questions on

I’m doing metal siding on a sheathed pole barn and would like to use a drainage wrap instead of a regular Tyvek-like wrap. Really a full rain screen would be nicer but outside of the budget from what I’ve seen

Can anyone recommend a good drain wrap? HyrdoGap by Benjamin Obdyke is the first result on Google and seems fine, though looking deeper there is a product called DrainWrap by Tamlyn that has a thicker gap (1mm vs 1.5mm), though the product is harder to locate.

I’ve also seen Tyvek and Typar have a product that does the same thing but looks more like a felt sheet, where do these fall in comparison to the other two mentioned?

Are there any other brands that I missed?

I don’t know that there is a huge benefit in drain wrap behind metal siding.

Won't I have to worry about condensation? The building is going to be spray foamed which should prevent most moisture, but it was so bad in my previous (not insulated) pole barn that it would drip on us every morning when working in the barn
