HVAC Installer Recommendations

Patrick_OSullivan | Posted in General Questions on

Wrapping up some HVAC design with Energy Vanguard and now the trick is to actually get a system installed well!

I would welcome recommendations of installers who are particular proficient at custom duct work as my low-mid static indoor unit will need a good install. I’m in north-central NJ.

Talk to Juan at Dew Point HVAC. 201 282-8909. To be clear, he hasn’t done any work for us yet, but we gave him a deposit and he will be installing our ducted minisplit and erv. Spoke to a few installers, and was most impressed with him. Seems extremely knowledgeable, reliable, honest and intelligent.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Would love your feedback after the install. Do you have an estimated install date?

No, not yet. Starting work on a got renovation/addition hopefully next month, but will be going very slowly, with minimal tradespeople, due to pandemic. Don’t really know when we’ll be ready to schedule hvac work.

If you are looking specifically for a mini split installer Optimize Air - (917) 242-6774 has been great. Not sure how much ducting they do though.

Thanks! Work looks clean for ductless units. Don't see too many ducted installs.

However, not sure they are licensed in New Jersey. (A cursory look does not reveal anything under the business name.)

They respond quickly to texts if you have concerns. Lots of examples of their work on yelp. I originally got their info from Amazon Home Services.

As a follow up to my own post, it's amazing how difficult finding someone to even talk to is proving to be. The closest I've come is one installer who's a bit busy right now and sounds like he does quality duct work, but has never seen a concealed ducted unit.

Definitely getting that feeling where I get concerned about balancing my idealism (in terms of what unit to use) vs. practicality (installing something much more familiar to contractors).
