Recommendation for Minisplit System Installer

MarkusT | Posted in General Questions on

I am trying to find an HVAC contractor who will do a mini-split heat pump (or ducted but with modern inverter heat pump) install on a new build house (3000 sq.ft) in Houston.

All the contractors spoken to so far have said they won’t do them on new-build projects, only retrofits. This includes the Mitsubishi and LG official contractors from their websites for the area.

This seems extremely bizarre and don’t know how to explain it since new build is easier than a retrofit. Can anyone suggest someone?

    Markus,

I think the first step would be to contact a HVAC engineer or RESNET expert to calculate accurate loads for your home. These consultants probably can help with equipment and contractor selection as well.
