Can anyone recommend a high quality direct vent natural gas heater?

gsc224 | Posted in General Questions on

We are currently using a vent free heater and find that it is causing health problems. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

    G. Suh,
Rinnai heaters have a good reputation.

G Suh - The Rinnai is an efficient heater that requires electric to work. If you are in a location that loses electricity frequently, and you don't have a generator, you may want to consider a lower tech direct vent heater that runs off a pilot light. These units are fairly foolproof, but not as efficient. You can turn the pilot off in the non-heating season, and restart it fairly easily. Your idea to get a vented heater is a good one.
